I waited 4 years but I finally made an appointment with Marie for a consultation. It was well worth the 50 minute drive. Her shop is beautiful and calming. I could tell within the first two minutes of talking to her that she understood curly hair and had the same ideas that I did. I scheduled an appointment for a cut a couple weeks later. My appointment was today. Marie cut my hair dry and washed and styled it. I am so grateful that I found her. She is patient, kind, and really, really listens to what you are saying. She worked with me even when I really wasn't sure what I wanted. Finally! I left a shop feeling uplifted and cared for. Highly recommend!

Marie did a great job on my mop. She listened to what I wanted, and explained what she was doing the entire time. I get nervous when I get hair cuts(bad history!) Marie takes time to make sure that I am comfortable and confident in what she is doing. I highly recommend her to anyone with curly locks.

Marie does a FABULOUS job on curly hair! She's Deva Curl trained and really knows how to let your curls out! I just went to her for the first time a week ago and I was thrilled with my hair when she was done. I haven't had a cut like this in over a decade and boy have I missed it! Marie listens to your wants and needs and is sensitive to your product desires (no quats or cones, please!) You will not be sorry you went to Marie, I'll never go anywhere else again!

I've been going to Marie for some time now and I have never given her a "Review". Shame on me!! She has always taken her time with my wild & crazy hair. I am so, so happy with my hair! Marie's cut has really brought out the curl, and although the shape change is subtle, I'm suddenly getting lots of compliments on my hair. I really appreciate her expertise (she keeps taking classes), time (she gave me a generous amount) and patience (she welcomed my many questions). Like so many curly girls, I've had countless traumatizing haircuts, and can honestly say this is the first time I've been 100% happy with my hair. After a year of wearing my hair in a straiter style, I longed to go back to wearing it curly. I found Marie Hair Studio on the naturally curly website. She had great reviews so I decided to give her a try. She did not disappoint!
Marie is a very caring person. She went so far as to run down to my car and place a few more coins in the parking meter when my meter was about to expire. I can tell that she loves what she does. She listens to what you have in mind, and offers up suggestions. I felt relaxed and comfortable. I got a cut and a color. I love it! It looks great, and it will go with my busy lifestyle very well. Marie also offered up some products that will help me make the most of my naturally curly hair.

Wish I could give Marie a 10! I unfortunately have not been able to find a stylist I love in years, and decided to give Marie a try. I went in for a cut, and left with a complete makeover. I am so glad I gave Marie free reign on my hair! The results were fabulous. I'm glad she went outside the box! My hair is so easy to manage, and frizz free. All I have to do is scrunch and go. Marie made some excellent suggestions on products, most of which she carries at her salon, which is convenient to have such a variety of curly products in one area, all reasonably priced. Don't forget to bring some coins for the metered parking. There is always a spot open right in front of her salon. Go to Marie...you won't regret it. ;)

I found Marie on this site and decided to give her a try. And I'm so glad I did! Not only do I save myself the drive to Portland, but everything about Marie is wonderful. There's nothing more I can say. It was the best cut I've had in years and she showed me a better way to style my hair. Which rarely, if ever, happens to curly girls!

I would rate Marie at Marie Hair Studio with a "10" if possible! Her haircut truly brought about manageable curls (minus the frizz) for me. Marie really listened to me and took her time with both cutting and styling. My 58 year old silver gray hair has never looked better--and I receive many compliments.

Marie is wonderful!!! My hair was frizzy,felt very dry, and would not hold a curl. Marie took the time to show me how to condition, dry, and style my hair. I love it. In the past I couldn't get my hair to look like it did after I left the salon. Now I finally can with Marie's help and the use of the right product! I have gotten tons of compliments on how great my hair looks. She also suggested the Curly Girl Handbook which has tons of information and guidance for curly hair.

I hope 5 is the best rating, because Marie was fabulous. My 17-year-old daughter's extremely curly/kinky hair was out of control - she tried to grow it out and it just got matted into dreadlocks. She has a tender head and wouldn't try to get the tangles out. Marie cut it into a shorter, VERY FASHIONABLE style - no dandelion head! Katie looks and feels so good about herself now. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!
