My own experience at this salon is that as per a couple of comments below, this salon is subpar when compared to most others. It is a somewhat shabby imitation of a professional salon.
I didn't appreciate having an unsupervised young child come and monopolize my time when I paid big bucks to get my hair done (poorly it turns out but I got it fixed elsewhere), as I didn't appreciate the drama. I only went here once and it will be the last.
It is the creepy boyfriend that smokes in the house, by the way.

I have been seeing Nadine for years now.
I went natural about 4 years ago and needed someone that understood my new choice. From the moment I met her she was kind, warm and professional. In my first appointment Nadine asked me what my long term hair goals were and explained to me that the stylist client relationship was based on trust and that she would absolutely not make any drastic changes to my hair until that trust was established.
She educated me further on the Curly Girl Method and Deva and I left her salon with an amazing cut and a pamphlet about taking care of my unruly curls.
When I told her I wanted to go back blonde she didn't just say okay lets do it. She asked me if I was sure, if I was going through a break up and why I wanted to do something so drastic. She went through the process of going lighter, the damage that would be done to my hair and what the upkeep would entail.
Two years later I am still getting compliments on the colour of my hair.
Trained in new york, owned her own salon at 30, an amazing mother to a gorgeous curly headed little girl and just a genuinely nice person.
She inspires me with her hardwork and hustle and I could never trust anyone with my curls.
Now that I actually travel to Barrie to get my hair done I can say with certainty that her house absolutely does NOT smell and she doesn't smoke.
I don't think those other "reviewers" have even had their hair done by Nadine let alone have stepped foot in her home.
And I would much rather go to her warm, inviting home than that hideous TRASHY BSO she was working at in Barrie when she left Toronto.
Im going to review that place next.

Wow, Nadine knows curly hair. I had my first hair cut with her today and really enjoyed the experience. Nadine is incredibly knowledgable about curly hair and really listens to your needs. The best part of today, was that I didn't feel the need to go home and restyle my curls, they were perfect, well defined, zero frizz and nice and soft when I left!! Thank you Nadine!!

I was happy to see a curly stylist appear in Barrie however this salon does not seem to specialize in natural curls despite the name. It was suggested that I relax my texture. The hairdresser didn't have curly hair and it was obviously not its natural color or texture. All fine for those who like such things but I will continue to make the trek to Toronto for proper natural hair care. (Maybe a name change is in order?)

I have natural textured hair and will go back to my salon that specializes in curly hair even if it is a little further. This salon seems to focus more on brazilian blowouts and straightening. I'm a naturalist and the products used here are not clean. I didnt enjoy the smokey smell either.

It was only ok, I did get a cut out of it but ended up crunchy and frizzy and had to redo myself. At my last salon I got handed a mirror to watch, which I liked. This one advised me to stay away from harsh chemicals.. when she is obviously a dry bleach blond and pushes products that are a no no and filled with carcinogens? Girl please.

This was the worst salon experience ever. I told off the person who recomended this place. Is this girl really deva certified? I so miss Krista, she was the best!!! This girl didn't even tell me what she used on me, something in a dark bottle. I can't even tell if the cut is ok because my hair is sooo crunchy and gross. The salon smells like cigarettes and there is a kid running around playing with everything. Not exactly a top notch place.

Nadine has made me truly love my curly hair. I always felt that my previous stylists were burdened with having to deal with my thick curly hair until I met Nadine. She is so passionate about perfecting the curls and teaching her clients how to properly care for curly hair. She is also incredibly talented with accentuating my natural curl- I couldn't tell you the last time I straightened this hair. She is my curl champion and it feels awesome to finally find a stylist who gives me this amount of confidence with my hair :-)

I found Nadine 5 years ago. I originally went to her because of all the positive reviews. I'm so glad I did because I love my curls now! I used to always wear my hair up, cause my hair was always a frizzy mess. But now my hair is long and lovely! I have finally embraced my curls! Nadine is always professional. She's moved to a different salon, but I'm willing to travel over a hour to get my hair done by her. I'm not interested in risking my hair with anyone else.

Nadine is the absolute BEST! She has been cutting and styling my hair for years. I get people stopping me in the street to ask who does my hair. I never leave home without a stack of her business cards. Not only is she great, but I can manage my own curls now. Her cuts always grow out beautifully, so if I get busy, I can delay a visit for a bit. She also knows colour! Love this lady!

Nadine saved my hair! Routinely visiting her, changing to more natural products she helped me find/try, and following her haircare advice transformed my hair. I've been able to grow it and get it more healthy! Nadine is not only a great stylist, she gives tips and advice about thing that I was able to discuss with my doctor which saved my hair and health. She also is very honest and committed to her clients' best interests. While other stylists have tried to get me to highlight my hair or add extensions, Nadine has always recommended me to stay away from those services to minimize damage to my hair, when other stylists like to upcharge and sell more services. You can't go wrong by visiting her!

Nadien has been doing my hair now for about a year and I am very happy with the results!!! The first time I went to Nadien was 2 weeks after I had my haircut by another stylist , Nadien was able to fix the bad cut without cutting too much length off. Nadien is an excellent stylist who truly knows how to cut curly hair. My hair always looks good, even when it's due for a trim, the cut never seems to grow out!
