International Natural Hair Meetup Day | Video

Imagine — natural hair meetups happening on the same day in 60 cities from Amsterdam to Austin! Sound too good to be true?

We’re happy to tell you it’s real! International Natural Hair Meetup Day (INHMD”> was Saturday, May 18! Adeaa Rogers and the INHMD team saw the value and increasing popularity of natural hair meetups and created a day when naturalistas can come together across the globe. Each city’s meetup is hosted by a naturalista from that community and can plan the event to fit the curly scene.

I (Evelyn“> attended the meetup here in Austin, Texas, home of the NaturallyCurly headquarters, over the weekend. According to Bridgett Lee, the meetup’s hostess, our city’s meetup “Curly, Kinky, & Coily in the Capitol” completely sold out. There were giveaways (I won!!! Excited to try my Komaza Care goodies”>, guest speakers, and tons of laughter. Bridgett even big chopped on stage! I’m pretty new to the meetup scene, but I had a lot of fun and can’t wait to see what’s in store for next year!
