If you’re anything like me, Monday morning starts off right, with a perfect hairstyle. But by the time Wednesday rolls around, I’ve already lost motivation and inspiration. For the rest of the week, my hair is down and loose or, if it’s a “bad hair day,” in a bun on the top of my head.
Everyone has days whenever they just cannot be bothered to spend time on their hair. Here are a few options for your lazy hair days.
If you find yourself constantly tossing your curls into an updo, invest in a few accessories. Bejeweled bobby pins, colorful headbands and chic bows are all great options for dressing up your ‘do.
Want to change up your texture? If you’re a type 3 curly girl, try combing (no brushes allowed”> through your curls for big, loose waves. Here’s how to get the look:
Deep condition your curls in the shower. When you get out, finger-comb a generous amount of your favorite styling solution through your damp hair, then part it.
Let your hair air dry. Then comb (DO NOT BRUSH”> through your curls with a wide-tooth comb until they fall in loose waves.
Finally, use an anti-frizz spray or a VERY small amount of oil to tame flyaways.
Changing up your part is one of the easiest ways to achieve a new look. Side parts are especially great for post-big chop curly girls and their TWAs. Solange rocked a side part in her TWA days and, as always, she looked amazing. You’ll need a comb, gel and clips or bobby pins to achieve the look:
Use your comb to divide your hair below the forehead.
Add gel and secure each side of your part with bobby pins.
Once your hair has dried, remove your bobby pins and you’re ready to go!
For this hairstyle, which is a grown-up version of one that I used to wear in lower school, I will redirect you to Camille Styles. The key to making it so chic? Keep it loose.
