We had been talking about getting married for a year or so before he actually popped the question. We would talk about where we would want to get married– and we just kept saying we wanted to get married in an old historic mansion on the water.  So, the day he proposed, I was supposed to attend a jewelry show with my mom, and at the last minute she cancelled (which she never does!”>.  All of sudden, I had no plans.

So, he asked me if I wanted to go for a walk, and grab something to eat.  As we were walking he said that there was actually a mansion in our waterfront neighborhood that he wanted to show me. Unfortunately, the mansion was closed, so I had to peek through the windows to check out the decor on the inside.  When I turned around, he was down on one knee with this beautiful ring asking me to be his wife. I think I was in shock for a few seconds, and then I blurted out YES! A little crowd gathered nearby and congratulated us.  Immediately after my mom called, and hurried over to our place to check out the ring. One of the happiest days of my life.
